Of the movies I have reviewed, here are the ones that were winners of an Academy Award (Oscar):

  • Amour (2012) – Won Best Foreign Language Film of the Year. Also nominated for Best Picture, Leading Actress, Directing, Writing and Original Screenplay
  • The Apartment (1960)Won Best Art Direction-Set Decoration (Black-and-White), Best Director, Film Editing, Picture and Writing (Story and Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen). Also nominated for Best Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, Lead Actress, Cinematography (Black-and-White) and Sound.
  • Argo (2013) – Won Best Achievements in Film Editing, Best Picture and Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay. Also nominated for Best Music (Original Score), Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Supporting Actor.
  • The Artist (2011) –  Won Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Original Score and Best Costume Design. Also nominated for five other Academy Awards.
  • Babette’s Feast [Babette gaestebud] (1987) – Won Best Foreign Language film.
  • Babel (2006) – Won Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Score. Also nominated for Best Achievement in Directing, Film Editing, Motion Picture of the Year, Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role (Adriana Barraza and Rinko Kikuchi) and Writing, Original Screenplay. ,
  • A Beautiful Mind (2001) – Won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Also nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Film Editing, Best Makeup, and Best Original Score.

  • The Blind Side (2010) – Won Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. Also nominated for Best Motion Picture of the Year.
  • Brokeback Mountain (2005) – Won Best Directing, Writing (Adapted Screenplay) and Music (Original Score). Also nominated for Best Picture, Actor (Ledger), Support Actor (Gyllenhaal), Support Actress (Williams) and Cinematography.
  • Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) – Won Best Cinematography, Best Original Score for a Motion Picture (not a Musical), Best Music,Song and Best Writing, Story and Screenplay Based on Material Not Previously Published or Produced. Also nominated for Best Director, Best Picture and Best Cinematography.
  • Cider House Rules (1999) – Won Best Supporting Actor and Best Writing, Screenplay. Also nominated for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Director, Editing, Music (Original Score) and Best Picture.
  • Dallas Buyers’ Club (2014) – Won Best Lead Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Also nominated for Best Motion Picture of the Year, Film Editing and Writing (Original Screenplay).
  • Dangerous Liaisons (1988) – Won Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Costume Design and Writing.  Also nominated for Best Leading Actress, Supporting Actress, Music (Original Score) and Best Picture.

  • Skyfall (2012) – Won Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song [by Adele] and tied for Best Achievement in Sound Editing with “Zero Dark Thirty”. Also nominated for Best Achievements in Cinematography, Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Score) and for Sound Mixing.
  • Sling Blade (1996) – Won Best Adapted Screenplay. Also nominated for Best Actor.
  • Slumdog Millionaire (2008) – Won Best Picture, Best Cinematography, Directing, Film Editing, Music – Original Score, Sound Mixing and Writing – Adapted Screenplay. Also nominated for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures – Original Song and Sound Editing
  • The Social Network (2010) – Won Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score and Best Film Editing.  Also nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Director and Best Sound.
  • Still Alice (2014) – Won Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role.
  • A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) – Won Best Supporting Actor, Leading Actress, Supporting Actress and Art Direction-Set Decoration. Also nominated for Leading Actor, Cinematography, Costume Design, Director, Music, Picture, Sound, Recording and Best Writing, Screenplay.
  • Training Day (2001) – Won Best Actor. Also nominated for Best Supporting Actor
  • Walk the Line (2005) – Won Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. Also nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, Best Achievement in Costume Design, Film Editing and Sound Mixing.
  • Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) – Won Best Supporting Actress.
